Beautiful Adversity

The bravest sight in the world is to see a great man struggling against adversity – Seneca

The inspiration of struggle has set us apart from dreamers. I’ve seen so many people struggle with their problems, with their false pretenses and make-believe happiness. I’ve seen people struggle with themselves.

And they have been the greatest men and women I have ever seen. Such hope did they bring to labor and faith. As mortals we cling on to what is familiar, to what binds us together in times of adversity and yes, struggle has done more than move us to action. It has called us to do beyond what it required. It taught us to hope.
